Trip to Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Overview

A Journey Through the Soul of South India

Step off the beaten path and into the heart of South India – where landscapes whisper, temples hum with life, and every city has a story to tell.

From the southernmost tip of the subcontinent to Kerala’s lush green hills, we follow a single thread: the energy of the feminine in all its forms – powerful, creative, intuitive, and deeply rooted.

Each stop is an invitation to immerse yourself in the spirit of India – blending spirituality, nature, and living culture – in the intimacy of a small group and at a pace that feels both fluid and inspiring.

Over two unforgettable weeks, we journey through India like a living, breathing body:
from sacred Kanyakumari, where three seas meet, to Rameshwaram, the island of purification;
from the devotion-filled corridors of Madurai’s Meenakshi Temple to the tea-clad hills of Munnar;
from the gentle shores of Kochi to the vibrant pulse of the Bharani Festival in Kodungallur.

This is an outward and inward journey—a pilgrimage woven with sacred places, meaningful encounters, timeless Hindu stories, and moments of rest, reflection, and nature.

For those wishing to deepen the experience, a 7-day extension invites you to:
Amritapuri – the serene ashram of Amma, the loving embodiment of the feminine;
Munroe Island – a quiet, intimate journey through Kerala’s backwaters;
Varkala – a final embrace of the ocean, relaxation, and gentle integration before returning home.

After graduating in Technology in Delhi, I stepped away from the corporate world to follow a deeper calling: to explore the world and create journeys that awaken the soul.

Living across three countries and traveling through more than 20 has taught me that true adventure lies not just in places, but in the connections we make along the way — with people, traditions, and ourselves.

Through The Sangha Project, I co-create transformative experiences that blend eco-conscious travel, ancient wisdom, and meaningful cultural exchange. These journeys are invitations — to slow down, to listen deeply, and to rediscover the sacred in the everyday.

Let’s walk this path together — with curiosity, with intention, and with open hearts.

Where are we going?

Itinerary

Trivandrum

-Arrival & Sacred Beginnings — Day 1

We welcome you in Trivandrum, where the journey begins with an opening circle. For those who wish, we visit the awe-inspiring Padmanabhaswamy Temple — one of the richest and most mysterious temples in the world — to begin our exploration of South India’s divine heritage.

Kanyakumari

-Where Oceans & Myths Meet — Days 2 to 3

We travel to India’s southernmost tip, where three seas merge and the sun both rises and sets over water. At sunset, we take a boat to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, soaking in the quiet power of this pilgrimage site. The next day is left open to stroll along the coast, reflect, or visit local temples and markets.

Rameshwaram

-Crossing Realms & Ritual Waters — Days 4 to 5

By train, we cross the Pamban Bridge to Rameshwaram, a key stop on the Char Dham pilgrimage. Here, we immerse ourselves in ancient rituals — from temple darshan to sacred bathing in the 22 wells of Ramanathaswamy Temple. Optional visit to the ghost town of Dhanushkodi at the edge of the sea adds a surreal touch.

Madurai

-Feminine Power & Sacred Chaos — Days 6 to 7

A short journey brings us to Madurai, a city that pulses with devotion. In the Meenakshi Temple, we witness vibrant daily rituals honoring the divine feminine. Our guide walks us through temple corridors, flower markets, and hidden alleyways where stories unfold with every step.

Munnar

-Hills, Herbs & Healing — Days 8 to 10

We ascend into the Western Ghats to the tea-covered slopes of Munnar. These days are for rest, nature, and slow connection: a tea plantation walk, time for Ayurvedic massage, and optional treks through spice forests and waterfalls. The mountain air is a balm for body and soul.

Kochi

-Ports, Performance & Pluralism — Days 11 to 12

Descending from the hills, we reach the coastal town of Fort Kochi. Its layered past — Portuguese, Dutch, Jewish, Chinese — lives on in the streets, cuisine, and architecture. We attend a Kathakali dance performance and explore synagogues, spice markets, and colonial forts that echo with centuries of trade and transformation.

Cherai & Kodungallur

-Ritual Ecstasy & Ocean Rest — Days 13 to 15

We stay by the sea near Cherai, perfectly placed to witness the Kodungallur Bharani Festival — an intense and powerful ritual where trance, song, and devotion merge. Whether you're drawn into the energy of the temple or prefer quiet time by the waves, this phase of the journey brings both release and renewal. We close with a final circle to reflect, share, and integrate.

Departure

-Farewell & Departure — Day 16

After breakfast, private transfers are arranged to the airport. You leave with a full heart, sacred memories, and a deeper connection to South India’s living traditions.
